HOUSE 01 & 02

As a General Contractor and custom home builder, my client tasked me with designing two unique, high performance homes different from any other home constructed in the subdivision.  He did not want a cookie cutter design or inefficient home, and was very budget conscious.

House 01: The first, and larger, of the two homes is currently under construction, and already distinctly different from any other home in the neighborhood.  It was strategically designed to minimize scrap material and capture views from the second floor.  To best reach the goals of having a tighter, less leaky building envelope, more controlled indoor air quality, and to allow the mechanical systems to work most efficiently, Huber ZIP system sheathing was used on the walls and roofs of the home as an alternative to the commonly used OSB and Tyvek system, along with high performance windows throughout.

House 02: The second home is set to begin construction in late August. This home is smaller and has an entirely different design. However, the same building concepts have been used to make this home as efficient and unique as possible.
